Separate alignment from certainty

Dupery divides roles into four categories: Innocents and Meddlers are good; Underlings and Traitors are evil. Your job is to investigate, reconcile statements with the case rules and arrest every evil role.

1. Read the case quirk first

A quirk can impose placement or information rules that change what a pattern means. Check the case quirk list before eliminating a candidate.

2. Record the exact trigger

Role abilities often depend on an hour, a prior investigation or another role's state. Note the trigger with the address in the suspect board; a claim that looks impossible now may become valid later.

3. Distinguish category from role

A clue that supports “good” or “evil” does not necessarily identify an exact role. Use the role list to compare category and ability text without overcommitting.

4. Expect deceptive text

Several shipped role descriptions explicitly mention lying, pretending or tainting. Test a statement against independent information and the quirk instead of trusting a single claim.

5. Arrest only when the evidence is ready

The official description says a wrongful arrest costs reputation. Resolve contradictions and preserve uncertain candidates until another investigation separates them.

6. Recheck the version

This guide uses a supplied v0.8.2 Demo snapshot. The official game page and patch posts may describe a newer role pool, balance or mode set.
