Big Dig

Player scouts, workers finish

Early workers do not automatically choose the best target and can become lazy. Revealing finds yourself and letting workers clear them reduces wasted wandering. Smart targeting improves this approach; Super Smart Workers explicitly lets workers move to any revealed artifact. Diligent Workers starts them digging, while Indefatigable Workers removes laziness.

Choose power or reach for the ground you face

A fast shovel still struggles when deeper tiles require many hits. Combine damage with speed, duration and depth access; Overflow carries excess damage into the layer below. An excavator is an alternative investment for broad clearing, not a universal best first purchase. Workers and the player still benefit from a manageable number of exposed targets.

Water, batteries and controlled blasting

Fishing upgrades increase rod count, speed or hang time; Automatic Fishulator recasts after a failed catch. Deep Sea Research rewards artifacts that splash more. Buried batteries temporarily speed up digging. Use bombs to clear soil efficiently, but check the affected area before triggering one and keep valuable finds outside it. A larger explosion covers more ground and needs more clearance. Artifact destruction matters when a find is caught in the blast; stabilization research reduces that risk.

Collection and income combinations

Duplicate Artifacts, Deep Research and a higher level cap work together for leveling; Artifact Maxing prioritizes finds below their cap. Shiny Artifacts makes shiny finds earn twice as much, though they still appear at random. Pair visitor-growth research with well-developed exhibits, and handle guest requests for tips while playing actively. The best order depends on your exhibit levels and how often you play manually.
