GONE Fishing · Beginner guide
Build a reliable fishing routine before chasing monsters. Browse catch stats, compare seven totems, plan your next purchases, and find your way across five regions.

Quota first, shopping second
Fish offered at the altar cover your quota; fish sold to the trader fund upgrades. Keep enough catch for the quota before selling your surplus. Leave time to return and process fish instead of relying on one last cast at dusk.
Keep the line under control
Time the hook prompt, then reel while tension is manageable. Ease off before the meter peaks. Repeated breaks are a reason to improve your line or use easier bait, not to buy still stronger bait.
Make each trip count
Carry the Depth Finder to read bait depth. Fish suitable deep water close to a safe return route: a longer cast also means a longer retrieve. Put bait traps somewhere you already pass and collect them as part of your usual route.
A practical first shopping list
A Minnow Trap costs 40, a Depth Finder 25 and a Fish Smoker 25. Buy according to the problem you actually have: bait shortages, uncertain depth or fish spoiling. A Large Grill costs 75; keep the quota secure before committing your remaining gold.
