GONE Fishing · Boss guide
The Lake Monster is the main boss. Bulls are one of its summoned attacks, while flying eyes appear in the balloon defense. Baby is a special catch used in the sacrifice sequence, not a separate boss to kill. The Lochness Monster catch is not evidence that it is the encounter boss.

Boss and supporting enemies
The Lake Monster is the main boss. Bulls are one of its summoned attacks, while flying eyes appear in the balloon defense. Baby is a special catch used in the sacrifice sequence, not a separate boss to kill. The Lochness Monster catch is not evidence that it is the encounter boss.
Starting the encounter
Obtain Baby and offer it at the altar to begin the special sequence associated with a red sky. Watch for the trader and objective prompts leading to balloon defense and the island. Gather your team and store valuable catches before the offering. A guaranteed catch day, drop chance and additional difficulty requirements for Baby have not been established.
Balloon defense
The trader needs protection while repairing his damaged balloon. Take the weapons he provides, deal with flying eyes near the trader and balloon, and watch repair progress. Avoid leaving the area to chase distant enemies. Once repairs finish, follow the interaction and ready-up prompts and make sure everyone is present.
Island battle: aim for the eye
The large eye is the explicit attack target. Use the encounter weapons, including the harpoon, and aim during gaps between attacks. The attack pool includes ground slams, lasers, squid bombs, bulls, electric eels, rolling turtles, homing catfish missiles, whale bombs and a shark tornado, plus enrage and re-enrage states. React to the current attack rather than expecting a fixed rotation.
Responding to attacks
Move away from slam landing points. For lasers, watch the charge and beam direction, move sideways and keep an exit open. Give squid and whale bombs room before shooting again. Step out of bull and turtle paths. Keep moving against homing missiles without leading them into teammates. Look for open routes around eels and the shark tornado. These are practical responses to the attack types; exact damage, blast radii and enrage thresholds remain unconfirmed.
Team roles and revives
With two players, split eye damage and add awareness/rescue, then swap when chased. With three or four, assign damage, add control and a mobile rescuer, with the extra player covering gaps. During balloon defense, protecting repairs comes first. Draw danger away before one player attempts a revive. Solo, repeat dodge, clear nearby threats, then shoot the eye.
Enrage and completion
As pressure rises, take shorter aiming windows and keep the team alive. Follow the regrouping and departure prompts after the kill. Defeating the boss unlocks Jeremy Wade difficulty. Balloon defense and Boss Island have separate checkpoint states; that alone does not guarantee that quitting preserves mid-encounter progress.
