Inspect before combining

Read both an item’s name and its description. The same container can hold different mixtures, and a new description often identifies the next action. A missing ingredient and an unsuitable environment are different problems.

Use the control prompts for your setup

The game offers different control schemes. Learn aiming, attacking, running and pushing or pulling before a cramped encounter. Follow the displayed bindings rather than relying on a guide’s keyboard layout.

Make room before attacking

Watch an enemy’s approach, move away from corners and attack when there is space to recover. Keep healing items for moments when you can use them safely. This guide does not assume fixed damage or ammunition requirements.

Light can change the rules

An early enemy can only be attacked in darkness. If a creature seems unharmed, inspect the room’s mechanism before spending more ammunition. Later mercurial forms are a separate case; ordinary physical attacks do not solve them.

Revisit with a clear purpose

Use the elevator and remember the floor, obstacle and item involved. After a major event, earlier rooms can have new objects or newly readable memories. Keep a separate save before the late-game weapon and final sequence.
