Lightning uses D × 0.75^(N−1), starting at target 1. Needles use D × 0.9^N, starting at 0 ricochets. Particle Recycling gives a 20% chance to pay half cost: average cost is 0.9 × E. These isolate one effect; they do not include other upgrades or guarantee a random outcome.
