Never Wither

This is an independent guide, not an official wiki. Current in-game descriptions take priority. Archive entries and later unlocks do not prove that every creature, recipe or ability is obtainable at the start.

1. Establish your first useful forms

Follow the opening objectives and use Purification Seeds to mark creatures. Reduce the marked creature’s HP as instructed. Keep healing supplies and avoid finishing a creature you intend to purify. Prioritise useful new capabilities, including Stumpy and Graveling.

2. Protect your water budget

Stumpy’s field ability consumes ten Living Water per seed. Water is also needed to sustain the World Tree. Set aside maintenance stock before converting the rest into capture supplies; use the seed planner to avoid spending your last reserve.

3. Plant on a leyline

Use Perceive to find an available Leyline Node, then plant the World Tree Seedling. Prefer reliable water access and nearby basic resources over a location chosen solely for its rewards. Stronger leylines come with protection and attack-risk tradeoffs.

4. Build the correct production chain

Stumpy becomes a Seedbearing Tree; Bobtail Squire runs the workbench; Bobtail Hunter provides the grill; Waterborn supplies the Spirit Spring. These are different creatures and different jobs. Check workers, workshop capacity, materials and collection of finished output before assuming production is broken.

5. Prepare before each boss attempt

Bring healing, a replenished combat resource and a pair with a clear job split. Keep your defensive action for an attack you cannot safely walk away from. Test an opening and disengage when resources run low; there is no universal damage-maximising pair established here.

6. Turn discovery into progression

New creature and boss index entries provide Gardener experience. World Tree growth grants Authority and unlocks more knowledge and companion options. If progression stops, check both Gardener level and World Tree/Authority requirements rather than farming one material indefinitely.
