A final favor at Vakenaat

Mariken’s last request brings the Maven, her former apprentice, to the Svangård mansion. Her bargains have left the family with a debt that Hell intends to collect. The Game of Souls is how you argue over that debt.

Inheritance and the family’s fate

The gray Inheritance cards represent Mariken’s sins passed down to her descendants. The more cursed a family member’s final deck remains, the more corrupt their fate becomes. Winning battles alone does not cleanse that deck; seek Forge options that purge Inheritance and weigh exchanges carefully.

Prepare for The Reckoning

Finishing Malthe’s soul contract allows you to Ascend his deck. The final chapter, The Reckoning, opens once each Svangård has an Ascended Deck. Choose the deck you preserve with both its combat tools and remaining Inheritance in mind.

Return with Ascended Decks

When replaying a chapter, each Ascended Deck lets you challenge the Herald to another Optional Ritual, up to four. Optional Ritual rewards unlock for future Rituals and may also be taken immediately. Use these extra opportunities to develop the deck you intend to carry forward.
