Bring weapons that cover both ground and airborne threats, and check energy and device condition before a boss section. Time your offence and protection around each enemy’s attack cycle.

Abyssal Fang

Great Lake · Hall of the Great

Journey section 6

Huge, bulky body and incredibly sharp fangs. Close-range ramming or biting causes terrifying destruction.

Keep firing while it circles or pauses. Its approach leads into repeated bites, so protect the devices it reaches. Losing a chunk of health interrupts its combo and sends it back to circling; use that opening to regain control.

Goldfish King

Great Lake · Aqua Skyrealm

Journey section 12

Giant Bubble Goldfish King. Spits out special large bubbles. If you're not careful…

It circles, pauses and releases groups of bubbles, with both ordinary and special bubbles creating pressure. Deal with bubbles approaching the vehicle while maintaining damage on the boss. Health loss sends it moving again, so keep airborne coverage throughout the fight.

Entangling Algae

Great Lake · Flowing Peaks

Journey section 18

Giant yokai wrapped in countless seaweed strands. Throws seaweed balls that deal damage and bind targets.

After pausing, it fires successive seaweed projectiles that damage and restrain targets. A pause follows the volley before the next cycle. Keep ranged coverage and focus your attention on workstations under concentrated fire.

Giant Tumbleweed

Sand Marsh · Sunscorch Sands

Journey section 6

Giant individual carrying huge numbers of small tumbleweeds. Once attached to a target, extremely hard to shake off.

Once attached, it slows the vehicle and repeatedly attacks. Focused damage can stun it and lead to detachment. Do not spend the whole attachment phase chasing the smaller tumbleweeds; breaking the boss’s grip is the immediate priority.

Stone Titan

Sand Marsh · Earthfire Wasteland

Journey section 12

Slams the ground with giant fists, launching objects into the air. Can also clap its fists together to crush everything.

Watch the raised fists: one attack drops from above and shakes the ground, while another closes in to crush the vehicle. The slam leads into a landing recovery. Keep weapons that can reach the fists rather than relying entirely on ground-level equipment.

Ancient Guardian

Sand Marsh · Windworn Desert

Journey section 18

Blocks all attacks with a giant shield. Cuts down intruders with an absurdly oversized blade.

It approaches behind a separate shield before swinging at close range. Destroy the shield to stun the guard, then concentrate on its body. It can summon another shield after recovering, so repeat the shield-break and damage cycle.

Skyshriek

Canopy · Blossom Valley

Journey section 6

Giant bird perched atop trees. Grabs moving targets and pecks enemies that invade its territory.

It closes in, lands and repeatedly pecks before taking off again. Enough damage during its preparation or pecking sequence stuns it. Concentrate weapons that can connect during this window to cut the attack short.

Giant Wraith

Canopy · Azure Citadel

Journey section 12

Giant individual formed from countless wraith. Possesses all wraith traits. Can gather and disperse its attacks.

When the body vanishes, smaller forms spread out and prepare a coordinated attack. Switch to those forms. Clearing all of them while they are preparing brings the boss back in a stunned state, giving you a window to focus it. Do not waste single-target attacks on the vanished body.

Susu Archmage

Canopy · Canopy Skyway

Journey section 18

Tiny treetop native elder. Greater magical ability. Fires faster leaf blades.

It circles, winds up and sends out a large spread of leaf blades before recovering. Maintain ranged coverage and protect devices as the blades arrive. Keep pressure on the body during the recovery phase.

Bat Lord

Abyssal Ruins · Slumbering Wilds

Journey section 6

Giant bat that summons common small bats. Sometimes emits sound waves that disable machinery.

It summons bats and moves above the vehicle to unleash sonic attacks against multiple devices. Bring airborne and crowd coverage. Damage the boss between sonic sequences while keeping the smaller bats from overwhelming your workstations.

Hardened Firefly

Abyssal Ruins · Ruined Stone Forest

Journey section 12

An ancient firefly individual, age unknown. Uses large pincer jaws to bite foes and can summon crystals from the ground.

After circling, it either closes in to bite or summons a line of crystals on the road. Keep aerial weapons on the boss and forward-facing equipment ready for the crystals. Chasing the airborne body should not leave the road unprotected.

Cave Worm

Abyssal Ruins · Lost Siegehold

Journey section 18

A massive worm whose whole body is hard to glimpse. Bursts from the ground at times and spits foul slime balls.

It sprays from overhead, withdraws, then erupts from below. Bring weapons that reach above the vehicle and resume fire when it reappears. The overhead barrage and ground eruption threaten different directions, so spread your coverage instead of stacking everything on one side.
