Chained Beasts

The decision loop between fights

  1. Enter each fight with a primary plan and a fallback. Check health, stamina-dependent injuries, weapon durability and whether your shield still works before accepting a challenge.

  2. During combat, spend stamina in short bursts and keep enough for one escape. Mix throws, trips, environmental hits and executions to entertain the crowd, but never trade a large hit for applause.

  3. After combat, compare the health restored by a potion with the affliction it adds. A full heal can still be a bad exchange if the new effect breaks aiming, vision, blocking or dodging for the build you are using.

  4. Training raises shared progress while strain belongs to each gladiator. Surgery can remove a damaging injury or offer a risky reward. Fix the condition that is already stopping your plan before buying another conditional bonus.

  5. Spend shared coins on survival, missing triggers and reliable equipment before luxury damage. Accept a special challenge only when the arena and current loadout provide a controllable way to complete it; refusing is cheaper than a crippling penalty.

  6. Carthage teaches the loop, Germania raises pressure, Rome adds coordinated enemy formations, and the final rebellion pushes toward the Senate. Treat day counts and encounter order as run guidance, not a fixed promise across difficulties or updates.
