Combolands Shop, Reroll & Consumables Guide
Use Gold, Rerolls, Removes, Dismisses, Blueprints and building upgrades without breaking a working Combolands engine.
Every shop purchase should answer one question: does this help the current engine reach the next milestone, or does it create a stronger repeatable engine without risking the deadline?
Reroll, Dismiss and Remove solve different problems
| Resource | Use it when | Do not confuse it with |
|---|---|---|
| Reroll | The current building choices do not supply an immediate score, required tag or valid terrain placement. | Removing a bad option from future rolls. |
| Dismiss | A building is repeatedly irrelevant and narrowing future offers is worth the cost. | Removing a building already placed on the map. |
| Remove | A placed building blocks the layout, has completed its job or can trigger removal payoffs. | A free cleanup action; removal can destroy useful tags and range support. |
| Gold | A purchase completes or strengthens the active engine while preserving enough flexibility for the next decision. | Points already secured: Vault and shop costs can make saved Gold strategically active. |
Use a Reroll early enough to act on the new offer. A last-week Reroll has little value if no placement remains. Use Dismiss only after the build direction is clear; narrowing too soon can remove a bridge into another workable engine.
Choose heirlooms for repeated triggers
Start with effects that apply to a guild or trigger already present. Agricultural Tome and Frontier Tome provide broad +0.5 Mult to their guild. Narrower heirlooms can be stronger when their condition repeats: Grain Cereal rewards Crop transformations beside Husbandry, while Pitchfork adds a chance to trigger an adjacent building.
Do not value an heirloom from its rarity alone. Check its base buy price, whether the city can trigger it before the deadline and whether it needs reserved adjacency. The heirloom database keeps the condition and base price together.
Blueprints and upgrades are timing tools
A Blueprint lets you hold a specific building for the moment its terrain and partners are ready. This is most valuable for a connection piece, a created trigger or a building that closes a milestone immediately. Confirm its available charges and placement rule before planning around repeated use.
Apply a building upgrade to an engine that already triggers reliably. Range helps only when more valid targets sit just outside the current boundary. Lower cooldown matters only when the shortened schedule creates another trigger before the deadline. Mult matters most on a building with a meaningful base score and at least one scheduled activation.
Resources can be part of the scoring engine
- Wheat Field produces one Reroll and one Remove when it grows.
- Herb Garden produces a Reroll and triggers adjacent Healing when created.
- Shaman scores when a building in range gains a Reroll.
- Shrine scores 50 base points per current Reroll every three weeks.
- Vault scores ten base points per current Gold every three weeks, so spending Gold changes its next payout.
- Composter, Guard Tower and Jousting Arena turn removals into Mult, triggers or Gold.
Check the next scheduled payout before spending the resource it counts. A purchase can still be correct, but its real cost includes the score removed from Vault or Shrine during that interval.
